Steve, thank you for the links. My hat's off to the ACRS for taking on
this misinformation head on. I find it very worrisome that even after
major red flags have been raised by Peter Bell and his colleagues as early
as 1995 regarding the nutrient loading into the Great Barrier Reef, the
misinformation about the role of water quality continues to persist. I had
hoped that we got past this. For those that are not familiar with Peter
Bell's work on the eutrophication of the GBR here are some links that I
think will shed some light on the subject.

While I am at it I would like to point one that for some strange reason
this body of work is rarely cited in the many papers dealing with nutrient
loading on the GBR.
