Sorry if that confused anyone. Axenic simply means without bacteria in the
surrounding environment. I know that jellyfish larvae need a bacteria present
to settle on a substrate and become a polyp, but I wasn't certain if this is
true of all cnidarians.

I may be among a limited few, but I think not. I have no idea what "axenic"
is. A clarification would be helpful.
Thanks,
Greg

Subject: [Coral-List] Coral larvae settling in axenic environment
I was wondering if coral larvae could settle in an axenic environment or if
there had to be a catalyst bacteria present. Any comments would be welcome.
