Dear Coral-listers:
If you know of undergraduate students that would be interested in a semester
of study in Tropical Marine Biology and Conservation; please pass this
notice along to them. In addition to a full program of study; this program
provides dive training that prepares students for AAUS certification at their home
universities. Students will receive the following training in the Scientific
Diving course: Open water, Advanced Diver, Rescue Diver, Emergency First
Responder, CPR + First Aid, Dan Oxygen Rescue, Underwater photography and
videography, Night diving, and Underwater navigation. Additionally, students will
be trained in the following Reef Monitoring Protocols: Reef Check, CARICOMP,
and AGRRA.

Antilles
The Tropical Marine Biology and Conservation study abroad program is still
accepting applications for spring semester (2007). Student participants will
register for 15 semester hours: Coral Reef Ecology, Scientific Methods using
SCUBA, Human Ecology, Marine Park Management and Independent Study. The

CIEE is an American, not-for-profit corporation that has 90 study abroad
programs in 33 countries around the world. We provide programs in language
studies, social science, political science and natural science for American
undergraduate students and have extended our deadline for the spring program in
Bonaire to December 1, 2006.
Prerequisites: Overall GPA 2.75 or better, 2 semesters of biology or
environmental science, and a nationally recognized SCUBA certification referral –
you can do your open water check out dives here.
