Charlie ....
Thank you for distributing this excellent presentation. Words don't do
justice to the fantastic job you did in this presentation. And ... I will
take up your call to be a part of the movement to make the world aware of
what is in store for coral reefs .... particularly, if we as citizens of the
planet do open our eyes and do something. You are an incredible
spokesperson for this movement .... and are to be congratulated for this
incredible presentation. Cheers, Billy Causey

Dear colleague,
If you have a care for the future of coral reefs in the face of climate
change, I implore you to take an hour to watch a presentation I gave at the
Royal Society. Please then become a part of the movement to make the world
aware of what looms ahead for reefs by asking as many people as possible to
watch this video and pass its message on: it is critical to reach people in
all walks of life. You can do your bit and it will make a difference.
The video can be watched at: http://royalsociety.org/page.asp?id=3093
(select “Is the Great Barrier Reef on Death Row?”).
Yours sincerely,
Charlie

A few people have experienced problems trying to watch the video. Here are
some suggestions if you experience problems:
You are welcome to use the powerpoint (too big to email): download it from:
ftp://ftp.aims.gov.au/pub/Veron/The_Coral_Reef_Crisis.ppt
Website problems:
Firefox 3.0 has dropped support for the Windows plug-in listed below. We are
working on an update to restore functionality. In the meantime Real media
can be used.
Please examine the following for info on Windows media plug in for
Firefox.and other general info.
Windows operating system and Internet Explorer browser
On line presentations require Internet Explorer V6+ and Windows or Real
Media player for x86 computers. It may be necessary to visit the Microsoft
website for the Windows media plug in for Internet Explorer.
You may see a message asking for Active X install which blocks the Web
application from running. This is a spurious message from the Windows
operating system. The presentations do not require any Active X component at
present. Simply OK the request. No Active X component will be installed.
Windows operating system and Firefox browser
Alternatively Firefox V2+ browser can be used provided the correct media
plug-ins for Real or Windows are installed into Firefox. (not Firefox 3.0)
Real player must be installed after Firefox otherwise Firefox does not
recognise the plug in.
If the error message reads ‘DoPlay is not a function’ it could indicate that
you need to uninstall
Firefox. Then use the browser to try and play a Real file and the browser
should direct you to
the correct Real installation.
For the correct Windows media plug in use another browser and visit:
http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx
Reboot the PC after install.
Other Windows plug-ins will not work.
Type ‘about:plugins’ into the Firefox address bar to see a list of installed
components.
Apple operating system
Apple Mac must use Firefox and Real Player
