Dear Friends,
We would like to announce a special forum called "Beyond the Horizon:
Creating a Network of Special Ocean Places." This forum has been organized
with the purpose of initiating discussions of a potential network of
special ocean places to strengthen the ecology, economy and culture of the
Gulf of Mexico.
Dates: May 11-13, 2011
Conference Purpose: Build consensus for establishing ecologically
significant protections for key Gulf of Mexico sites to ensure that they
continue to provide important services to our society; identify mechanisms
that allow comprehensive approaches to management as well as significant
involvement of the public in decision making.
Location: Mote Marine Laboratory, 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota, FL

Registration Fee: $50 per participant/$25 per student
