Dear Coral-List
I am sending this out to the list as a reminder that we are still accepting
- until October 1st - nominations for this year's Rosenstiel Award, which
will be given in the field of Marine Biology and Ecology. The award consists
of a $5,000 prize, a medal, and an invitation to the University of Miami's
Rosenstiel School in Miami, FL to present two seminars in early 2016.
I am sure there are many people on this list who can think of suitable
recipients for this award, which targets scientists in mid-career.
Please feel free to circulate this announcement, but note the approaching
deadline for receipt of nominations.
Rosenstiel Award
The Department of Marine Biology and Ecology at the University of Miami's
Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science
(http://www.rsmas.miami.edu/research/departments/marine-biology-and-ecology/
) seeks nominations for the annual Rosenstiel Award. This award was created
by the Rosenstiel Foundation to recognize outstanding contributions to
marine science (http://www.rsmas.miami.edu/about-rsmas/rosenstiel-award/).
This year the award will be made to an outstanding mid-career scientist
working in the general area of Marine Biology and Ecology (including, but
not limited to, physiology, genetics, genomics, proteomics, ecology,
behavior, population dynamics, connectivity, toxicology, and conservation
science). Nominations should consist of a cover letter from the nominator
and the candidate's CV. Self-nominations are accepted. Nomination materials
should be submitted to Chris Langdon, Professor and Chair of the Department,
at: clangdon at rsmas.miami.edu by October 1, 2015.
Thanks
Andrew
